Introduction to BPAY
Submit multiple BPAY bill payments securely from your systems using CommBiz automated.
What is BPAY Batch Entry?
A method of making BPAY Payments to one or more Billers by compiling and transmitting a file that contains multiple payer instructions. Rather than paying each bill individually, your business submits a single file containing multiple BPAY payments, each identified by a Biller Code and Customer Reference Number (CRN).
Your system generates a CSV file made up of a header record and payment detail records. This file is exchanged securely with CommBank via CommBiz Automated (SFTP), with no manual uploads or downloads.
Common use cases
- Supplier & invoice payments – settle accounts payable to any registered BPAY Biller in a single file
- Utilities & operating bills – pay recurring business bills (e.g. electricity, telco, rates) in bulk
- Tax & statutory payments – meet ATO and other government obligations using the Biller Code and CRN
- Insurance & finance repayments – make high-volume premium or loan repayments to BPAY Billers efficiently
