What are Bulk Fast Payments?

Bulk Fast Payments is CommBank's file-based channel for submitting high-volume domestic payment instructions. Payments are processed in near real-time through the New Payments Platform (NPP), rather than the settlement windows of Direct Entry (BECS).

Your system generates a standard fixed-width ASCII file in the industry-standard ABA format. This file is exchanged securely with CommBank via CommBiz Automated (host-to-host SFTP), with no manual uploads or downloads.

Common use cases

  • Payroll - pay employees and contractors in a single file run, with faster access to funds
  • Supplier & vendor payments - settle accounts payable and remittances in bulk certainty of outcome
  • Bulk disbursements - process high-volume, high-value payments (e.g. rebates, claims, super contributions) in near real-time
